London Hotels – An Overview
Britain`s capital is filled with things to see and do. It`s a multi-cultural and therefore multi-lingual city and you don`t have to spend a lot of money to enjoy exploring it, especially if you can book such extras such as theatre tickets using a discount vouchers website.
Here`s ten of the best hotels and hostels in London:
1.The Hoxton Hotel
Fusing luxury with affordability in a way that no other London Hotel can, The Hoxton won an award in the Sunday Times Travel Magazine and rooms cost from £59 to £199 per night.
2.The Capital, Knightsbridge
This hotel is a 5 star treasure. The acclaimed restaurant holds two Michelin stars and serves French inspired dishes with an international twist. A single executive room is £190 per night, while a double is £240.
3.St Christophers, London Bridge
A trendy, friendly hostel, the London Bridge branch of St Christophers really delivers. Travellers can stay in a fresh and colourful dorm room for just 16.00 a night or grab a private room for £26.00. There`s also a stylish, modern internet cafe, a pub and a nightclub all included!
4.The Clink Hostel, Finsbury
The Clink used to be a court house and isn`t dissimilar to St Christophers. There is a slightly less cool bar and a gorgeous wood-panelled computer room. Dorms are £10 a night and private ensuite rooms are £60.
5.Hotel Grosvenor, Kensington
The Hotel Grosvenor in Kensington is an affordable 3 star Hotel, with nightly rates as low as £40 per night in some instances and £59 in others. However, rates do change depending on when you book.
6.Meryln Court, Kensington
Meryln court is a typical little Bed and Breakfast, with just 2 stars but plenty of natural charm. This B&B sits in an Edwardian square and is family run. All rooms are non-smoking and ensuite doubles range between £75 and 85.
7.Blades Hotel
This traditional bed and breakfast is getting good reviews. It seems to be popular with people from all over the world and it`s apparently in a book by an American traveller called Rick Steeves.
8.Quality Crown Hotel, Hyde Park
This 3 star hotel`s part of a chain called London Town Hotels (LTH). It`s bright, welcoming and modern. A compact double is just £98 per night with free breakfast and a four poster with breakfast costs £124.
9.Hotel Indigo, Paddington
Also part of the HTL group, this hotel offers a similar service and rates to the Quality Crowne but still deserves to make it on to the list.
10. London Marriot Marble Arch Park Lane
This 5 star hotel overlooks Hyde Park; perfect for a summer picnic. The 140 Park Lane Restaurant is acclaimed and a double room for two nights costs £259 per night for a standard suite or £309 a night for a guest room with executive lounge access.
