For several hundred years tourists have been flocking to see the incredible sights and sounds that London has to offer. A one-time it was only royalty and noblemen who could afford to make the trip simply to explore the delights of the capital city, but now with cheap transportation and accommodation options everyone can have the opportunity to visit one of the world’s truly great destination cities.

The list of things to see and do is just absolutely endless, every street has something to offer, thousands of little blue plaques on the walls of buildings indicate that a famous person was born in this house, or an historic event took place in this building.

Of course there are also a huge number of major attractions, perhaps unrivalled by any other city anywhere else in the world. Tower Bridge is an iconic landmark that for many exemplifies the thought of visiting London. For others it may be an occasion such as the changing of the guard outside of Buckingham Palace that sums up what this city has to offer.

Some people prefer modern attractions such as the incredible London Eye, which slowly takes you high above the city allowing you to view so many great and historic monuments such as Big Ben, or the stunning glass towers of Canary Wharf’s financial district.

Sightseeing opportunities probably run into several thousands in this incredibly vibrant and exciting city of over 13 million people. Whether it is the delights of West End shows the excitement of shopping on Oxford Street, London is sure to never disappoint.
